Cookies
What we store, and why.
This page explains the cookies and similar tools Roughs uses, and the choices you have.
Effective November 4, 2026
Always on
- Session: keeps you signed in.
- Language: remembers your language.
- Your cookie choice: remembers Decline or Accept.
- Time zone: shows dates and times in your time zone.
- Theme: saved in your browser.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: checks for bots on some forms.
Roughs needs these to work, so they can't be turned off.
Counting visits, without tracking cookies
We use PostHog to count visits and actions, like clicks, scrolling, publishing or following, and to measure page speed. This counting stores no tracking cookies on your device. PostHog tells visits apart with a temporary code that resets every day, and doesn't keep your IP address. PostHog stores analytics data in the European Union.
Analytics cookies, if you accept
PostHog stores an ID on your device so we can see return visits and how Roughs is used over time. When you're signed in, it's linked to your account's internal ID, never your name or email. We also record sessions (pages, clicks and scrolling) to find what's confusing. What you type in forms is always hidden.
What we never do
No ads. We don't sell this data.
Changing your choice
Use the buttons below anytime. Declining stops analytics cookies and session recording from then on. To delete past analytics data, write to hi@roughs.design.
